Launch of the College of Health Tourism with the Accreditation of the University of Barcelona for Administrative Sciences in Spain
The Barcelona College of Administrative Sciences has announced the launch of the College of Health Tourism, described as the first specialized college in the world dedicated to the integrated academic study of health tourism. The college is accredited by the University of Barcelona for Administrative Sciences in Spain. This initiative aims to establish a modern academic model that brings together health sciences, tourism, management, and natural resources with therapeutic value, based on international quality standards.
Dr. Abdelaty El-Mannaei, founder of the College of Health Tourism, stated that the establishment of the college comes in response to the rapid growth of the global health tourism sector and the need for specialized professionals capable of managing and developing this sector according to scientific and professional principles. He explained that the college’s vision is based on integrating modern health technologies and practices.
El-Mannaei noted that the college will offer a range of accredited academic and professional programs, including a bachelor’s degree, professional diplomas, and specialized courses. There are also future plans to expand into postgraduate programs, including master’s and doctoral degrees, in addition to field training and the establishment of a specialized research system that will contribute to developing safe and sustainable practices in the health tourism sector.
The academic plan will cover several fields, most notably Health Tourism Management.
El-Mannaei also explained that the college seeks to establish a network of international academic and research partnerships.
For her part, Dr. Eman Al-Bashir, President of Al-Nahda Sudanese University, affirmed that the establishment of the College of Health Tourism in partnership with the University of Barcelona for Administrative Sciences reflects a strategic vision shared by the two universities to develop the higher education system and introduce academic specializations that keep pace with global transformations and labor-market needs.
She added that the curricula have been designed to achieve a balance between academic foundations and practical application through field training.
Admissions are expected to be announced and the program officially launched during September.
