Meta: It may take 10 years for artificial intelligence to reach human level

Meta s head of AI Yann LeCun said that AI models could reach human level levels in about 10 years LeCun explained according to the specialized technical website Tech Crunch that following a method called the universal AI model could reach human-level levels within a decade or so. The Meta officials statement refers to what was previously announced by OpenAI in new AI models which it called having a memory feature which will allow it to remember previous conversations making it capable of complex thinking and comparison. LeCun added saying:We need machines that understand the world that can remember things and have intuition and have common sense and things that can think and plan at the same level as humans. He continued by saying:Despite what you may have heard from some of the most enthusiastic people current AI systems are not capable of any of this. Today large language models like those that power apps like ChatGPT and MetaAI are a long way from uman-level AILeCun says.Humanity may be years or decades away from achieving such a thing he continues.
